The Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife considers trout a non-invasive species and stocking trout into waterways is not a threat to area Texas Wildlife. The Club's TROUT LEASE Program's purpose is to extend Texas game fishing resources by maintaining and stocking area trout leases.
The Trout Lease program consists of several private access creeks and ponds in the Fredericksburg and Kerrville areas, catch and release only. Our lease management team is continually looking expand the program by acquiring additional lease waters.
Lease participation is offered to club members for a pass-through fee that covers the cost of water's rent, cost of fish, and fish feed. Learn more about becoming a member here. Learn more...
The leases' first stocking is in December and the fishing days extend through April, depending on seasonal water temperature changes. A second stocking often occurs in late January or early February.
Fishing lease slots, are available (with paid fee) only to members of Texas Hill Country Fly Fishers Club. In November email notifications are sent out to the previous year's lease-holders with remaining slots offered to all remaining club members on a first come first serve basis.
The total number of lease-slots available each year are determined by the amount of available lease waters and the respective water conditions near the stock dates.
Lease holders are expected to assist with stocking and maintaining lease waters as part of learning effective game fish lease management.
